What is an urban protection device?<\/h6><\/div>

The urban protection device includes a control unit with a rechargeable battery and solar panel, plus one or more protective sheets depending on what you need, along with connection cables.
These sheets are custom-designed to stop dogs from peeing in specific spots or birds from landing and messing up windows, balconies, cornices, or other building features\u2014whichever applies to your situation.
It runs on solar power or batteries and can be easily controlled right from your smartphone with our mobile app.
To get a better feel for how it works, check out the short demo videos on our homepage. When you buy the device, you can pick the type and number of protective sheets that fit your needs: for dog pee, birds, or both.
The device does not respond to accidental contact with the protective plate, nor to rain, snow, or any foreign objects that may temporarily adhere to the surface (leaves, grass, etc.).

Is it harmful or dangerous to animals?<\/h6><\/div>

Nope\u2014not at all. The urban protection device uses a tiny, harmless tingle<\/strong> that\u2019s way weaker than a AAA battery and totally below any pain or danger threshold. You can\u2019t even feel it with your fingers.
That said, sensitive spots like a dog\u2019s mouth or urinary tract (or a bird\u2019s feet) might pick up a faint tickle<\/strong> if they make direct contact\u2014like when a dog pees on the sheet or a bird lands on it. Birds feel it a bit more because they\u2019re so light. Dogs, though, are quick learners: after one or two weird tingles<\/strong>, they remember the spot and pick a better place to go (like a tree or a patch of grass). It\u2019s all about gently nudging their habits\u2014no harm, just smart redirection using their own smarts.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Is the urban protection device legal to use?<\/h6><\/div>

Absolutely, 100%. You have every right\u2014sometimes even a duty\u2014to protect your building\u2019s exterior or entrance. Property owners can defend their space from misuse, like turning it into a public dog bathroom.
Our device doesn\u2019t hurt, annoy, or attach to any animal. It simply and passively discourages bad behavior that\u2019s already against the rules in most places.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

What is a protective sheet?<\/h6><\/div>

It\u2019s a super-thin sheet\u2014just 1 mm thick\u2014with a built-in circuit of tiny electrical conductors on the top side. It\u2019s fully flexible, so you can bend it or trim it with scissors to fit any surface.
We currently offer two main sizes:
Large rectangular sheet<\/strong> (30 x 18 inches): perfect for protecting building facades, entryways, or street fixtures from dog pee.
Long narrow strip<\/strong> (16.5 feet long x \u00be inch wide): designed for balconies, window ledges, or cornices to keep birds from landing.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

How long does the battery last?<\/h6><\/div>

The device sips power and runs 100% on solar under normal sunlight. But if it\u2019s stuck in the shade or bad weather hits, it has a backup battery slot and a universal plug for any alternate power source. Pop in four 1.5V batteries (like standard AAs) and it\u2019ll keep running at full power\u2014even with up to 10 protective sheets hooked up\u2014for at least a year.<\/p><\/div><\/div>

Installation is a breeze\u2014no construction, no mods needed\u2014and it locks in solid and lasts, whether it\u2019s on public or private property.<\/p><\/div><\/div>
